Taraba state Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has expressed dismay over the state of dilapidated structures, insufficient classrooms and teachers at Kwana Daban, in Bali local government area of the state.
The Governor, who stormed the school unannounced alongside the commissioner for Education and other functionaries, wondered how 365 students share only two blocks of classrooms.
The Governor of Taraba state paid an unscheduled visit to Kwana Daban primary school after holding a town hall meeting with people of the central zone of Taraba state in Bali to ascertain their needs and priorities.
On arrival alongside the commissioner for Basic Education, Fr Augustina Godwin, and the Secretary to the government of the state, GT Kataps, among others, the Governor discovered that the two blocks of classrooms were in a dilapidated form with almost no chairs.
The Governor, in shock, wondered why and how two blocks of classrooms would accommodate 365 students with only two teachers.
He assured that immediate action would be taken to ameliorate the situation going forward
The Governor also took time to address the visibly elated members of the community on the various actions of the government to rescue the education sector.
