Former Vice president Atiku Abubakar says lifting of the suspension of Rivers State Governor, the Deputy and members of Rivers State House of Assembly calls for no celebration, rather the said suspension is a sign of President Tinubu Administration’s dictatorship.
The Former Vice President made these statement in post via his social media handle this morning.
Atiku Abubakar further said President Tinubu does not have the constitutional power to suspend democratically elected officials in the State.
“Lifting the suspension of Governor Simi Fubara is nothing to cheer about”.
“The suspension of the Rivers State Governor and the State House of Assembly was unconstitutional when it was done six months ago and is still illegal today”.
“President Tinubu had no power to suspend a democratically elected governor and state lawmakers”.
“The Rivers shenanigans only signpost the dictatorship of the Tinubu administration”.
It would be recalled that President Bola Tinubu, yesterday announced that the Rivers State Governor Similalaye Fugbara his Deputy and Members of Rivers State House of Assembly will today 18 of August 2025 resume their official duties in the State after serving a six months suspension.
